Numeracy Tools
Hands-on tools to explore place value, number properties, multiplication, and fractions. Each tool comes with investigation questions to turn exploration into deep mathematical thinking. Works on desktop, tablet and phone.
What Are These Tools?
These are interactive explorations, not worksheets. Each tool lets you manipulate numbers and see what happens in real time — shift digits through place value columns, shade multiples on a number grid, highlight times table patterns, or compare fractions on a wall. Toggle display options, change settings, shade cells by hand, and print your work. Every tool also includes 30+ built-in investigation questions that progress from accessible pattern-spotting to deeper reasoning and proof, so there is always something meaningful to do next.
How to Use These Tools
👩🏫
Teachers
Project a tool on your whiteboard and let students direct the exploration. Use the built-in investigation questions to structure a whole lesson or pick one for a starter activity.
Tip: Use Full Screen mode on the whiteboard, then scroll down to the investigation questions on student devices!
📚
Students
Work through the investigation questions at your own pace. Start with the earlier questions to spot patterns, then tackle the open-ended challenges at the end. Use the manual shading to test your own conjectures.
Tip: Change the settings to see if patterns you spot still work on different grids!
👨👩👧
Parents
Explore alongside your child and discover patterns together. The investigation questions give you ready-made prompts so you do not need to be a maths expert — just ask the question and see what they find.
Tip: The Fraction Wall is great for homework help — it makes equivalent fractions click!
