Having received the email from Edexcel today, we now have a complete set of draft specifications for the new maths GCSE (from 2015, first assessment 2017) from the three main examining bodies:

Need help as a tutor to prepare two students for maths GCSE. Do they have an intermediate level paper
Just Higher and Foundation
My son will sit in 2017 high paper maths gcse and is the first lot to take. After had the mock exam this term using new syllabus, he drop to grade C from grade A*. NOT KNOWING how to tackle the long questions. Is there any exercises you could provide to help or video? That is a switch from old to new syllabus.
I hope to add some support for this over the summer
Just to let you know, I really appreciate this site and recommend it to students of ages and levels. Thanks.
Thank you 🙂
Hi, I’m sitting my maths GCSE exam in 2017 and I’m extremely nervous. In my mock I only achieved a 3 in the foundation paper because one of the calculator papers had many wordy problems which I struggle with because I find it difficult to identify if this is a +,-, division or multiplication question. Is their any worksheets or videos on how to tackle word problems?
I’ll be updating my site in October with some help on this 🙂
I had to retire from teaching on health grounds (poor hearing) so I now tutor. The downside is that you miss out on discussions on new topics and specifications so hopefully I will feel more in touch by reading your blogs and articles I came across the new notation in a pupils book last night on inequalities and ‘sets’. I was very confused!!
