There has been a trend in recent years on TES of people coming up with wonderfully creative ways of bringing board games and TV shows into the maths classroom. Recently we have had Catchphrase, Pointless and even Scrabble, to be but a few. Now comes Monopoly!

This version of Monopoly requires students to successfully solve equations in order to purchase the properties they land on. These equations get gradually harder as you go round to board, and thus to own the potentially very lucrative Mayfair, you are faced with an incredibly challenging equation to solve. Added to this are some lovely Community Chest and Chance cards, making this a fun, engaging way of consolidating understanding of solving equations.
