With just 2 weeks to go until Paper 1 of the Edexcel and AQA GCSE Maths Exam, I just wanted to share with you something I am doing with my lovely Year 11 class to help them focus their revision. I wanted to stop them being overwhelmed and thinking that they don’t know where to start. All of this is completely free, and uses my Diagnostic Questions website.
The short video below shows you all you need to know, so please feel free to share with your students:
If a student logs into Diagnostic Questions, they will find a “What do I need to revise?” button on the bottom-right of the page:
Clicking this will take them to a page where there is data on every single question they have ever answered on Diagnostic Questions, nicely arranged into subject areas. So, clicking on “Maths” will break their success down into the main sub categories:
And then clicking on each of these will break it down even further:
So, we can see here that Jenny needs to revise “Surds”, and if she scrolls down the page she will find all the surds questions she has attempted, together with her answer and explanation:
She then has the opportunity to try these again:
Or view explanations from students who have got these questions correct until she finds one that makes sense to her:
And then for extra practise, Jenny can try more surds questions (or indeed any topic) on my GCSE Maths Takeaway page 🙂
I hope you are your students find this useful, and good luck in these last two weeks! 🙂
