What is it?
Often sequels can be a bit on the disappointing side. Take Avengers: Age of Ulton for example – there was 2 hours of my life I will never get back. But that is certainly not the case with Andrew Chamber’s latest release. Hot on the heels of last year’s incredible 100 Maths Investigations, we now have… Even More Maths Investigations! Yes, in this epic 80 page pdf, you will find loads of exciting, engaging and challenging mathematical investigations and historical features aimed at top end GCSE students, right up to A Level Further Mathematicians.

How can it be used?
Investigations like this lends themselves very well to group work in the classroom, ideally over several lessons. But the sad fact is that we very rarely get the time to do that, especially at A Level, where the pressure to get through the content is all too pertinent. If that is the case, then this resource could always be given directly to students. I did this with one of my Year 13s who was applying to Cambridge University to study maths. He wanted to show he had done some reading and investigating into the subject outside of school, and Andrew’s booklet was absolutely ideal for giving him a quick overview of some fascinating areas of maths, which he could then delve deeper into. This could work equally well with Year 12s or even able Year 11s who want to get a taster of A Level and beyond. This resource truly is excellent, and I for one, am certainly hoping it is the second in a trilogy!
